Nerdy Little Things

Everyone, even the most boring, work-loving person has that one nerdy little thing that they can't help but love. Maybe they are addicted to sudoku, or collect coins. It doesn't matter what, everyone has one thing, at least.
Now, being a true nerd, through and through, I have tons of nerdy things I love. I play World of Warcraft. I watch anime. I've read the harry Potter series countless times. I quote books for fun. I play Pokemon.

My point, I guess, is that the title of "nerd" applies to everyone, in some way. There's always something nerdy about a person, no matter how normal they may seem, If that makes any sense. I think this all made more sense when it was still just in my head...

Fan-girl-ness (or lack there of)

I've just finished reading Tempestuous, by Lesley Livingston (I bought it this morning). It was awesome. I've been waiting ages. Now that I've got it, and have read it, I shall return to obsessing over the next Maximum Ride book (Angel). I read the first 8 pages. May I say that I hate Dylan's guts, and was thrilled to find this. I vote taser.

Anyway. I left a comment (I vote taser). However, it is kind of irritating to have to read all these sappy fan girl comments for Fang all the time. I thought that over, and realized something. Which I will now call the all-encompassing-theory-of-something-or-other.

No book heroine may have a boyfriend without having at least fifty fan girls being all starry eyed over him.

Just an observation. I mean, really people, would you really want to have to deal with someone like Fang? I know I wouldn't. I for one, would go nuts from having to deal with someone like that (as in, supports me sometimes, then mocks me, then ignores me, then mocks me again, then, well I don't know what else) for prolonged periods of time (in fact, one of my friends would love to use that as a form of strange and unusual torture for me-you know, just in case she ever feels the need to lock me in a cell with a fictional character). And don't get me started on Artemis Fowl. I don't think I could deal with a genius who enjoys insulting, not only the person, but their ideas, intelligence, and the ground they walk on. All I can say is, as much as I love reading about characters like that, I could never actually deal with them. I shall remain a fan without becoming a fan girl, thank you very much.

I apologize if I offend legions of fan-girls world wide.

Looking back: A while later: Okay... looking back this seems kinda harsh. Sorry. I was just tired of wading through a bunch of fan-girly comments. All I'm saying is; if you're going to be a fan-girl, please have some sort of rational reason. And no, "He's Cute" (and I'm pretty sure I read this comment somewhere... I kid you not) does not count as rational.

Again with the Food (sorry if this is getting boring).

A friend of mine brought over this traditional Macedonian bread, with cheese in it. I. Love. It. It's amazing! So, if you're reading this, thanks!

I think we should do a food challenge for the blog (on, like January 21, or something, after my unhealthy/processed food fast is over), and try a bunch of different cultural stuff. Widen our horizons, you know. I'd have to find vegetarian recipes, but I think it would be awesome.

What say you? (Lord of the Rings quote there, did I ever mention I am obsessed?)

While We're on the Subject of Food...

Sometimes, I can't stand watching other people eat. For example, both my brothers drown their food in ketchup, sometimes to the point where you can't see the food, and the plate is dyed an orange-red afterwards. I gag whenever i look at their food, but they seem to love the way it tastes.

Why, I wonder, do people have such strange eating habits? Everyone has them, I know I almost always have Caesar salad dressing or Italian dressing on any meat I eat, from poultry to steak, but never on fish. From an outside perspective, that sounds kinda gross, but it tastes sooo good to me.

Don't Let My Mother See This.

My mom is a health food nut. Spinach brownies. Chickpea Cookies. Date Muffins. Yep, she's tried them all. (Only the spinach brownie tasted awful, the other two were okay.)

So, I really hope she doesn't see this, because I like my mashed potatoes the way they are, unhealthy or not. I really think this is just evil. I have not found a way to eat sweet potatoes that tastes remotely good.

Enjoy your holidays!

So. Here it is, then.

Yep, I know everyone is just fainting in awe. Mhmm. Total excitement.

Anyway, this is basically where random information and reflections on it will be posted. Wow. That sounds really dull. But, anyway, welcome! I'm technically supposed to be logging off now (one of the rules my parents have set upon their teenage daughter), so that's all for now. Ciao!
